Club Mistral El Dorado

The spot of Club Mistral Eldorado offers unique conditions for advanced and expert kitesurfers. The center faces an amazing view of the sea, and the colorful lagoon upwind and the red mountains in the front give riders an unforgettable experience. The private beach offers enough space to launch directly in front of the center, which is just 20 meters from the rooms of the Eldorado Lodge. In front of the center, after 70 meters of shallow water protected by the reef, you will directly reach the open sea with its swell or chops depending on the strength of the wind. 200 meters upwind of the center there is a huge flat water lagoon protected from the waves, which is suitable for kitesurf beginners. This is also where all of the lessons are held.

500 meters upwind from the center in the same lagoon it’s much better and safer for beginners – also perfect to launch your kite with our help if needed and in case you drift, you drift down to the center.
200 meters upwind from the center, where the lagoon starts, there is the chance to surf small waves breaking on the reef. When the wind is strong reef waves can be more than 2 meters. The spot is perfect for directional board riders as well as strapless surf board style.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
- The spot is for experienced/expert riders who can go upwind easily and are able to recover the board. The conditions are choppy; otherwise they should go upwind in the lagoon.
- There is a reef in front of the center and outside the lagoon, and even inside the huge lagoon there are some rocks on the bottom and some corals so we always STRONGLY suggest to wear shoes!
- Also long wetsuits are recommended to offer full protection from the corals and from the sun in the summer. Of course it’s nicer to kite only with board shorts, but this is at your own risk!

WIND
Dahab is well known as a windy city, with around 300 windy days a year. At Club Mistral Eldorado spot the wind blows side onshore from the left. It comes from the sea so is always constant and clear. In the colder months the wind changes direction in the evening coming from the mountain (side offshore) overnight, and then turns again to side onshore around 10am to give fantastic riding until sunset. In winter the wind is always around 20 knots or more.
During the warmest months of the summer the wind normally starts blowing at night (side onshore - NE) and keeps on blowing strong until 12-1 pm. In the summer the average is around 20 knots but normally in the afternoon the wind calms down and becomes nice for stand up paddle or snorkeling.

The brand new wood center is located directly on the beach of the “Eldorado Lodge & Restaurant”. We offer kitesurfing lessons for all levels, rental and storage. At the moment we offer Private and Semi-Private lessons. The center offers rescue service and has a nice roof to enjoy the view of the sea and the landscape, or to just relax in the sun.

It’s a super nice place for a perfect kitesurf holiday – bed and board at one spot! Center manager is Alex, together with his wife Rosanna he founded “Eldorado Lodge & Restaurant” – he speaks Italian and English.
