Jeffreys Bay
South Africa
The surf camp is located in the surf resort town of Jeffreys Bay in South Africa’s Eastern Cape region. The town used to be a quiet fishing village until its sandy warm beaches and perfect surfing bays were discovered. Today it is touted as the surfing Mecca of South Africa and is home to the one and only ASP-stop on the world surf championship tour on the African continent.
The area receives consistent swells from the Indian Ocean and provides great surfing all year round for both beginners and more experienced surfers. The waves just go on and on in perfect right-hand point-breaks, which are said to be some of the world’s best.
Jeffreys Bay is situated just 35 km west of the gateway city of Port Elizabeth, where airport pick up is included for all guests. With its unique combination of beautiful beaches, endless summers, white gold (calamari) and relaxed lifestyle, Jeffreys Bay has a true surf atmosphere, where no one wears a tie and very few people feel the need for shoes. After a great day of surfing you can hang out at many of the local surf bars or stroll on the beach and comb for rare and beautiful shells.
South Africa is not only famous for its amazing surfing. It is also the land where you can meet lions and elephants in their own backyard. We wouldn’t want any of our guests visiting this amazing country to miss out on these stunning experiences. Therefore, one guided visit to a safari game drive is included for all guests.
Temperatures are moderate all year round along the coast with rain scattered throughout the year. The summers (October to March) are warm with a very temperate humidity level. Winters are mild and pleasant with good surf year round.
