High Tech Travel offers you together with CO2logic the possibility to compensate your CO2 emission due to your flight, in an easy way.

WE DONT PROPOSE THIS TO GAIN MONEY,
BUT BECAUSE WE ARE CONVINCED THAT WE CANT CONTINUE TO POLLUTE WITHOUT TAKING RESPONSABILITIES.
As a supplement on the price of your holiday we can charge you a fee in function of the CO2 emission of your flight.
We transfer that amount to CO2logic (you get a confirmation of that) that will be invested in projects to reduce CO2 emission.

What is CO2 offsetting?:
CO2 offsetting happens when you support a carbon reduction in a developing country that is equivalent to your unavoidable CO2 emissions over here (e.g. from a flight).
CO2 offsetting is often used for flights because there are little alternatives e.g. for a week stay and flight to New York. A return flight to NY emits approximately 2,5 ton CO2 equivalents per passenger. This is much more than an average Belgian during a year (15.000km) with a VW Polo!
Your offsetting contribution will support a CO2 reduction project (wind turbines, biomass,…) in developing countries to balance-out the CO2 emissions from your flight. This a is way to fight climate change.
We advise to take the train for short journeys.


Which projects is it about?
Your contribution will go to UNFCCC (United Nations) certified renewable energy project. These projects will prevent more CO2 emissions being emitted into the atmosphere by replacing fossil fuel projects (e.g. a coal plant) by renewable energy (wind turbines, biomass plants…) in developing countries. But there is more to it, these projects also contribute to sustainable development and socio-economic development. For example; some of these offsetting projects enable local farmers to sell their agricultural waste (new incomes) while they used to burn this agricultural waste on the fields.
