Hello Peter
Back yesterday and a brief assessment
Three very nice Lodgings - Extra cooking so lodgings really perfect - Meals outside the club very good and not expensive.
Choice of spots: not so good ... not at all suitable for beginners or even Pierre who is in his 2nd-3rd week was only able to do 5-6 sessions and not much fun given the difficulty of the waves!
Waves +++ 1.5-2.5m and a bit in all directions, not really the beautiful swell of the North Sea! and -this can be a chance- 25 to 35 knt of wind sails of 6-7 for Camille 7-9 for Lucas and Me.
André equipment at Rede Beach SUPER and nice Pablo course at Pierre sympa
Kitestrophik in Jeri: Massimo the Italian Bof, very correct equipment but claims to be IKO and insists on IKO gestural protocols, but doesn't give help or advice (when Pierre is jostled in the waves) “it's not in my contract”.
Rather tense relationship when asked about possibilities for beginners. But sells his course to my wife in Dantesque conditions - 2m waves and 30knt wind!
Rancho do Peixe: Kite school and equipment on site. Not expensive, but rentals without lessons come last. One day we were told “no boards this morning”.
Very old and unchecked equipment, for example: on the last day, a fin was missing from one board, and a pad screw from the other!
And if we take the sails with no planking, a simple knot locks the adjustment, which no longer jams in the cleat.
Next year, we'll have to think about other spots. Maybe Dakhla, so that Pierre can move up a level.
