Dear Peter,
We had a super stay! I meant to send you another email to thank you.
We booked the flights ourselves because there was no more room on the return flight Dakhla > Casablanca with AIR Maroc. We thus flew over Marrakech with AIR Arabia and this flight too was very good, and was punctual.
One piece of luggage (the one with our kites) was left behind in Casablanca on the outward flight. Unfortunately, very poor communication with AIR Maroc about this. At the airport on arrival they said they did not make luggage claims; but advised to send the hotel the day after with the luggage 'ticket'. Days afterwards, however, no update or help was received from Air Maroc. It was fortunate that I stuck an AirTag in the suitcase, which showed that it had arrived in Dakhla two days later. The hotel did help well with this and went to collect the luggage.
Furthermore, we found
- the people were extremely friendly! Both at the bar, and the kit school, wellness staff,...
- The food was delicious, varied and fresh! There was always a wide selection of fish, meat and vegetables. Also afternoon and evening dessert. There were various 'theme' evenings such as sushi night, hamburgers, barbecue, ... but also always a choice from the buffet. My sister with various allergies had plenty of choice at the buffet every meal. Special gluten-free bread was also made and the like.
- Super service at the kiteschool.Even if you don't hire equipment, and thus only pay for your locker, they are very helpful with mounting and unmounting equipment. We did a downwind excursion to la dune blanche - really worthwhile if you are an average or advanced kiter (although quite tiring for average kiters like us).
- the hotel very atmospheric with an eye for detail; nice lounge,...- the rooms were cleaned 2x a day, so we were not bothered much by the sand in the room. There was enough space in the room and the sanitary facilities were fine.
- I also found the yoga every morning super. There was an option to inidivally book other Yoga classes throughout the day; but then I was mostly kiting.
I have only one comment, and that is that they can apparently organize more activities than they indicate. For example, there also appeared to be an option for sunset kite sessions, where his then bring aperitif and DJ booth to the lagoon. Unfortunately, we only heard about this on the last day.
So we want to thank you very much for the good advice; for us this was the ideal address I think. Good food, nice atmosphere, friendly people, ideal location at the lagoon (we had 7/7 days of super wind), option for yoga and a good combination of rest and activity.
Hereby a short text for the website:
Thanks to the excellent help from HighTech travel, my sister and I had a super stay at Lagon Energy! Very friendly people, fresh and very varied food, nice atmosphere, ideal location right on the lagoon and a full week of excellent kite wind. We will definitely go again next year!
Kind regards,
Stephanie and Louise
