Here is a description of our vacation in Fuerteventura at the Melia Innside Hotel (7854).
When we booked at the office, we specified that we wanted a room as high up as possible. But when we arrived, we were on the first floor overlooking a blind wall, which was not at all a vacation feeling, of course. We went to ask if we could get another room on a higher floor for an extra 140.00 euros, which we did without hesitation (see attached photos). The reason we wanted to stay upstairs (also mentioned in your office) is that we already had a bad experience in Malloca with a room on the first floor, where they came in through the sliding window and robbed us. In Egypt, we were also allocated a room of this type and saw clear signs of burglary on the sliding window. We can also add that it's a pity that the other Melia hotel next door is closed from May 2024 to May 2025 due to hotel renovation. It's a pity because we couldn't use the facilities of this hotel (like the swimming pool, ...), which we weren't informed about when we booked. An empty hotel like this gives a funny vacation feeling if you don't know about it + as a result, we had to walk a little to reach the windsurfing spot. So it's best to mention this when booking again.
The hotel itself was very good, very quiet, the food was good and pleasant (lukewarm though), a good bar with good cocktails, friendly and helpful staff and a good pool.
The reason we chose Melia Innside was that my husband wanted to be close to the René Egli surf center for surfing. His experience of the surf spot is as follows.
The spot is difficult for beginners, you have to drag a lot of equipment because the sails are up a slope and the whites are in a different place from the sails and a very narrow passage with stones down to the beach where everyone has to pass, both surfers and beach regulars. However, the choice and quality of equipment were TOP.
It was our experience of our week's vacation in Fuerteventura that we enjoyed.
