Herewith the 2nd report of my holiday, wife home - friends arrived
This was the 7th time I went to Lagoon Energy so I can do some comparison.
Lagoon Energy definitely remains the top location for learning to kite, or for practising tricks through the flat water, it was the 3rd time here for my friends and now there everyone is good with away.
When I arrived there was a problem with our booking of 6 people and at first I was not even allowed in by the guard, this shortcoming was quickly resolved though.
I noticed that some things had changed at Lagoon Energy, the management had been taken over by local people and the French couple that had run it for years were no longer there.
The succession of staff was a bit less than before and there was some turnover of staff, no one from the previous year was still working in the restaurant. Strange - there are a lot of them in Lasarga Oceanvage Association
At the kite club there wasn't really anyone directing people either and when you got out of the water they weren't as helpful as years before either.
The red lifeboat was still top for rescue.
We had ordered a downwind with the friends and 1 of our friends fell into the water after turn 2 with his kite and it exploded. So he was able to sit in the boat for 1.5 hours until we reached the speed spot, the other one who was with us had snapped a rope after 5 minutes of sailing. In such cases, they should take extra equipment with them so they can continue kiting.
Especially if it is rented equipment.
After kiting in the summer bar, a DJ was always there to create some ambiance and this was very nice for our group.
He also came to play upstairs in the restaurant each evening after dinner.
The French chef had apparently also left and I thought the food had deteriorated, in terms of variety and fine dining.
In short nice holiday but still a few points less than before.
