he week at Lagon Energy was very successful. (in November)
Our expectations in terms of wind were not very high so we were more than happy with our 5 days of wind out of a total of 7 days on site.
It turned out that the week before us could present the same statistic and the week after as well: apparently a top month in terms of wind!
The three of us went there to start wingfishing (2 of us) and to improve (the other one): the spot is very suitable for this because the deeper zone you need as a foiler is within walking distance from the club. That stepping is not even necessary because the club tractor brings and takes your board to and from the spot with a smile.
Like everything happens with a smile at Lagon Energy by the way: we felt welcome from the first to the last day.
The IONclub has many advantages: right next to the lodge, its own security so you can leave your precious equipment set up with peace of mind: luxury!
The spot is located at the northernmost tip of the lagoon, which gives several advantages: in sustained winds, the water surface remains relatively flat, which is an advantage not to be underestimated by beginners. The further south you went downwind, the more choppy the water became.
The tip of the lagoon is wide enough to sail decent racks, and narrow enough to dismount on the 'other side' of the lagoon in the lower lagoon part to take a break or step ipwind.
One of us three took lessons at IONclub, and it would have been nice to have a radio connection from shore, which is common these days.
But all in all a top lodge, top crew and top club.
