La Tour d'Eole Dakhla

La Tour d'Eole is far from the other kite hotels on the other side of the lagoon, making it a quiet place to stay. We enjoyed the privacy of the new villas, with their own plunge pool. The villas are a little further from the restaurant and Ocean Academy than the bungalows, but communication via whatsapp means transport can be arranged quickly from one part of the hotel to another. The food is varied and delicious and follows a weekly menu, with plenty of vegetarian options alongside French and local cuisine. Lunch is served buffet-style with tasty salads and fish/meat on the BBQ, on the beach, maximising kiting. At the Ocean Academy, there is plenty of space to store and dry kitegear, and there is even shade provided, so you don't have to completely unload your kites or leave them in the sun during a break. The staff are very friendly and helpful with rigging and unrigging. The spot itself is beautiful, with a shallow lagoon at high tide ideal for flatwater tricks or beginners, and in the deeper part in front of the Ocean Academy sometimes even some waves. The rescue is also well organised. The rocks sometimes make it a bit difficult to get in and out of the water, but the kiteboys are happy to help. Besides kiting, we also enjoyed the yoga classes and a massage. We will happily go back!
