Please note that from the 1st of May 2023 until the middle of October the station at Ponta Leme is going to be closed.

All services which are not blocked in our booking system Surf during this period are going to be offered only at our station in Santa Maria.

This year the center in Santa Maria is staying open over the whole summer and Juliane will be in charge of it.

• Windsurfing is available in Ponta Leme - will open again in October
• Windsurfing for beginners and Kitesurfing is available in St. Maria
• Kitesurfing also available at the Kitebeach with shuttle services (check)

Please note, that Kite Storage will not be possible in St. Maria.
Matej has been working for ION CLUB since 2010 at our Fuerteventura and Sal centers, and from October he will replace Owain.

Please note that is it’s not possible to pay by credit card in Sal neither in St. Maria nor in Ponta Leme. Also it’s not possible for guests to take Windsurf equipment to other spots, it has to remain at the center spots.

The Joker Voucher:
Een flexibel programma om te kunnen afwisselen tussen windsurfen, kiten, SUPpen en golfsurfen. Dit is de perfecte formule voor wie graag een sportieve, actieve en afwisselende vakantie beleeft.
Een van de vele mogelijkheden als je een ‘Joker Voucher’ hebt: windsurfen in de ochtend, kitelessen in de namiddag en ’s avonds een surfsessie bij zonsondergang. The Joker is een perfecte formule voor wie graag nieuwe dingen probeert.

CLUB Santa Maria and the windsurfing services are all held at ION CLUB Ponta Leme.
ION CLUB Ponta Leme stays the “place to be” for windsurfing, for guests with intermediate to advanced level!

SUP and Surf are available at both ION CLUB, same as our shorebreak service.
ION CLUB Santa Maria is dedicated to kitesurfing for all levels and windsurf-beginner.

additional infos from ION CLUB SAL:
1. Storage:
a. Windsurfing: we have quite some space at the centre at Punta Leme and it is no problem to store windsurf equipment there, we will put some availabilities in TourOne as fast as possible
b. Kitesurfing: we would like to do it at the centre in front of Hotel Belorizonte, but due to the extremely small centre we have there, we are not able to provide enough space and guarantee for the security at night.

2. Excursions and possibility to take equipment to other spots:
a. Due to the still very small centers we don’t have enough equipment to cater people who want to go for excursions or take the equipment to other spots, and also to the fact that we cannot provide any safety on other beaches, we are not able to offer this service yet, but we will keep on looking for solutions and possibilities for the future.

3. Rescue:
a. We are going to have a cooperation with the centre of Josh Angulo to share his boat for rescues. This is already working.

4. Shuttle
a. The schedule we have sent out, seems to be the best solution for now, there are some points we would like to explain to make this service efficient and working:
b. The route is not driven everyday no matter if there are guests waiting or not. As we do it on Fuerteventura we will only pass by and take guests who made a reservation in advance. This means the guest can tell us the day before (best) or during the day at which time of the scheduled he wants to be picked up at which hotel. For guest which have just arrived, they can either call us or send us a message or it is also possible to leave a comment on TourOne.
c. That way we can offer a good shuttle service without unneccessary driving and loss of time.
d. The hotels listed on the schedule are the hotels which are not in walking distance, if there are additional hotels which are far away, like Hotel Villa Verde, we can of course adjust our shuttle service to this demand. For all other hotels first meeting point is our centre in front of Hotel Belorizonte, from where the shuttles will leave at the scheduled times to kite beach or the Centre Punta Leme.

De surfclub ION club Cabo Verde  is gelegen voor Morabeza en Belhorizonte in Santa Maria te Sal.

In deze club wordt je verder geholpen in het Engels, Frans, Duits, Italiaans, Spaans of Arabisch. Een team van gecertificeerde IKO instructeurs staan klaar om je te helpen. Naast wind- en kitesurfen, kun je ook golfsurfen, SUPpen, diepzeevissen, duiken,…

The ION CLUB St. Maria and the ION CLUB Ponta Leme will reopen on 15 October until end of May.

Andere Spots:
Punta Sino, ongeveer 500m downwind van ION Club Santa Maria, is een perfecte wave-spot. Wij raden aan per groepjes van 3 personen te gaan. Indien genoeg vraag kunnen we trips organiseren naar deze spot. Soms zijn de windcondities er beter dan aan ION Club Santa Maria. Deze trips zijn wel exclusief verzekering of safety.
