Haraka kite
Situated on the beach of the most beautiful kitesurf spot on the island. Mathias is our center manager and he is supported by three licensed
kitesurf instructors.
Directly behind the center is the Haraka Kite Cafeteria which Dominique takes care of. Made to look like an Omani home the villa offers non-alcoholic drinks and a nice variety of snacks during the day.
In front of the Haraka Kite Cafeteria there is a cosy chill out area with an amazing view to the beach and the ocean. This area has a nice roof which offers enough
shade for breaks between kitesurf sessions.
We are very proud to announce the launch of FBC ZANZIBAR – a new spot in the FBC portfolio and a total paradise for kitesurfers and all boarders!
FBC ZANZIBAR is located in Paje and situated on the beach at the most beautiful kitesurfing spot on the island, with the stunning backdrop of endless blue Indian Ocean and beautiful white beaches. Dim the owner of Kite Center Zanzibar started the fist kite school on the island in 2006 and has been successfully running the center ever since.
FBC ZANZIBAR offers amazing conditions for ALL levels of kitesurfer. The two huge lagoons with a long white sandy beach and shallow crystal clear tropical warm water will guarantee a very unique experience. Ride flat water on the inside or head to the reef in the waves and surf looking for the best breaks along the coastline. Beginners can be going through their first steps in the protected lagoon, whilst more advanced can be mastering their jumping or wave riding on the outside. SUP, surfing and windsurfing also available. The longer you stay, the more you learn!
With top NKB equipment and ION accessories, perfect warm weather and sea temperatures, and a consistent side-onshore wind blowing most of the year – it honestly doesn’t get much better than this!
SEASON AND WIND
There are two main wind periods on Zanzibar (also our opening times):
- From Beginning of June until end of September where the northerly monsoon wind known as the Kursini blows from the south (cross-onshore) with an average of 15-20 knots.
- From Beginning of December until end of February where the southerly monsoon Kaskazi blows with an average of 15-20 knots. This wind direction is less constant and can get quite gusty.
OTHER ACTIVITIES
- Experience the wildlife of for example Tanzania.
- The most famous area is the island capital's historic center “Stone Town” with its
endless streets and historical buildings which you can spend days walking around.
- Beit el-Ajaib - home to the Zanzibar National Museum of History & Culture.
- The narrow passageways of the Darajani market.
- Various palaces and museums and many more activities - the list is endless.
LieuLocated in the friendly fishing village of Paje on the southeast coast - a tranquil and characteristic place known for having one of the most beautiful beaches that you will mostly share with seaweed farmers, fishermen and Masai. The spot is about a 45 minute drive from the airport.
The two huge lagoons with a long white sandy beach and shallow crystal clear tropical warm water is a unique kitesurf experience. The first lagoon can only be used at high tide. At low tide the second lagoon can be reached within 5 minutes walking, but still the conditions are great further outside or
a little bit further south of the center. It’s a perfect shallow water area great for lessons, and also superb for advanced freestyle lovers. Outside the reef there are nice waves but only for experts and at own risk!! The huge beach offers plenty of
space for setting up.
All year round the weather is warm, about 27-30 degrees – so board shorts and a lycra is more than enough!
The plantings of the seaweed farmers are everywhere along the cost, and some of them in front of our center, however they are marked by sticks and are visible.
