THE CENTER
The ION Kitesurfing Center is on the grounds of the 4-star Blumarine Hotel with its nautical and warm atmosphere in Anse la Raie.

SEASON AND WIND
Season: from March until December.
Best travel period: is the Mauritian winter for more constant trade winds.
In the lagoon the wind blows at an ideal angle almost always side-shore - between 10 to 25 Beaufort.
In the bay of Anse la Raie and in front the Hotel Blumarine the wind blows cross onshore.

KITESURFING RENTAL AND LESSON

KITESURFING
The equipment is North Kiteboarding and the 2014 kites and boards will be available.

Kitesurf Rental
We will offer kitesurf rental at our regular PEAK, STADARD AND SPACIAL RATE – soon there will be an overview of the prices. There is no extra safety fee at this center.

Kitesurf Lessons
We will offer semi-private and private kitesurf lessons for all level.

WINDSURFING
Windsurf lessons will be available for complete beginner, excluding kids. For now we will offer Semiprivate, private and group (max. 4 students) lessons.

SUP RENTAL AND LESSONS
We will have 10 Mistral SUP-boards on offer. Rental and lessons are available on site. SUP excursions will also be organized on site.

Starting from the 15th of October we stop the prebooking for windsurf-equipment
rental in prebooking for Anse la Raie, due to the low demand. It will be available on
site, but the choice of equipment will be quite limited.
Windsurf-Lesson we keep in prebooking and also all Kite-Services are not affected.

We are happy to announce that ION CLUB Anse la Raie is back in April 2022! 

We are offering Kitesurf rental,  and lessons and also SUP rental for windless days. 

Season: All year    Opening hours: Daily 9.00 am – 5.00 pm

The center is located next to the beautiful Paradise Cove Hotel. (Adults only).

Guests which are staying in the Paradise Cove Hotel will be directly on the spot, and those staying at the Zilwa Attitude Hotel can easily come by taxi to the ION CLUB Center (5 min drive).

This spot provides perfect conditions to improve freestyle and wakestyle skills thanks to the flat water, there is also a wave spot on the reef only 1km away from the beach. There are many downwinders to do from the multiples Islands around, and cruising around here in foil is magical: the water is beautiful, the lagoon is huge and the landscape is amazing! Kitesurfing is one of the best ways to have fun and enjoy life while keeping a low impact on environment, in places like this, it seems really important to take care of nature, considering all the beauty around. Let's try to keep it this way!

Dear kitesurf friends, our team will be very pleased to welcome you in ION CLUB Anse la Raie! 

THE SPOT
A reef, which in part lies up to 2.5 kilometers from the shoreline, almost completely girds the north-east of Mauritius. This makes for a broad lagoon, which, whilst not shallow enough to stand in, gives a huge and safe flat-water-playground. In addition, the constant wind blows almost always at an ideal angle: sideshore!
Due to the fact that the beaches on the north of the island are both small and not very common, the kitesurf lessons take place in the 300 meters wide and sandy bay or from the boat further outside in the lagoon.
The bay of Anse la Raie is only 5 minutes on foot from the Blumarine Hotel, which is where our new center is based, and it is the same distance from the Paradise Cove Hotel.
Guests staying in the new Zilwa Hotel can take the boat-shuttle to the Club Mistral Center.
Kitesurfers who are renting or storing their kitesurf equipment with us also start in the bay of Anse la Raie.
For launching and landing we have team members ready in the bay. A highlight for Club Mistral guests who are able to kitesurf is the down-winder with safety boat which we will organize regularly. On those windless days this is also on offer with our SUP boards to the nearby “Amber Island” inside the lagoon, which offers a vast area of Mangroves to explore.

The bay of Anse la Raie and the spot in front of the Hotel Blumarine is also perfect for windsurf beginner lessons - no currents, no waves and the wind is cross onshore, so they do not drift away. There will be a limited amount of windsurf beginner equipment.
The outer reef gets some nice waves (less than the south, the size is usually from 0.5 meters to max. 2 meters). Supervision or guided tours can be organized using the safety boat.
In the future there will be transfers to the south for wave lovers in case of poor conditions or for SUP/surfing lessons. Soon there will be more information about it!!
