I have had very positive and happy experiences during my stay in Vassiliki. I’ve taken the sailing option with WildWinds. The sailing school is well organised with professional, very helpful and friendly staff. The school has a wide variety of monoholes and catamarans. I am a beginner and enjoyed learning sailing with a laser.
The accommodation is very basic but clean and well maintained. The only thing that’s missing is Internet. The latter is available only in the restaurants, but it is weak, slow and when many people are using it simultaneously, it simply is non-existant.
The area is very nice. I loved the proximity of the accommodation to the beach and the see; just a walking two seconds distance. What is still missing is an area with umbrellas and sun-beds on the beach for those who hate lieyng around a very clean and civilised sweeping pool far from the see. It takes away the possibility to experience this unique combination of hot sun, friendly murmuring see, and jumping in and out when feels like for which people generally go for this kind of holidays to Greece and don’t sit near their own sweeping pools at home.
Another positive feature of the place is that it is very international as a community. It is easy to make friends and to have fun in the evenings. The nearest village, Vassiliki, is only five-ten minutes walk away. It is full of restaurants, shops and bars where one can have good time.
I would definitely recommend WildWinds in Vassiliki for people or families who like active holidays and are not too demanding in terms of sophistication of food and services.
